A wildly ambitious and collaborative take on Homer's classic
Homer's epic adventure like you've never seen it before, this version of The Odyssey is a musical adaptation that boasts a cast of hundreds, drawn from the worlds of Broadway and regional theatre groups, as well as regular NYC citizens.
Originally commissioned by the Public Theater, and first staged in central Park in 2015, it's a ground-breaking experiment in inclusivity and diversity that introduces a whole new audience to one of the world's great works. The lyricism of the oriignal work is captured in the varied and catchy score, while all the dialogue is modern and witty. Starring in this Artpark production are Terrence Archie (Rocky), Emily Skinner (Jekyl & Hyde), while Roger Danforth directs.
