Such a great performance by Father John Misty. I've been a casual fan for a while, and wasn't sure what to expect at his concert. He put on an outstanding show! Anyone who has listened to his lyrics knows how complex his songs are, and the live performance did not disappoint. The weather was absolutely perfect at this outdoor venue. Even though we had general admission seats, we were able to sit on the bleachers of the amphitheater and have a good view of the stage. My one complaint is that the crowd was the least engaged I've ever witnessed at a concert. People were loudly talking throughout the entire performance, which was annoying and distracting. Children were also allowed, which was another distraction. But I would put up with all of that to see FJM again.

FJM rocked the bowl tonight in a sweet all white Barry Gibb suit , perfect hair , and a delicious voice that sometimes reminded me of James Taylor with it's soothing honey drenched vibrato- an ideal delivery system for the sharpness and dry wit of his songwriting. A gorgeous evening under cool blue stars and gently wafting top shelf flower was had by all....thank you Father John !

Excellent performance. The acoustics were great, the band was awesome, and Misty can really sing. He may be a cynic. He may be a con artist. He may be a musical savant. Who knows? (just read his interviews to see what I mean.) But he put on one of the better shows I have seen - probably in the top five out of the many dozens of concerts I have attended over the years.

God Bless Father John Misty!

I'm a 60 year old who brought my 15 year old son to see FJM,,,someone he'd been raving about for about a year. I really didn't know much about him except that he's the former drummer for Fleet Foxes and has some amazing songs, Well friends...what I saw was damn near the finest concert I'd ever attended, and I've been to a lot (more than I care to count). I can't even tell you the names of most of the songs except the incredible opener "Pure Comedy", the sad yet somehow redemptive "Ballad of the Dying Man", the majestic "I Love You Honey-bear" (brought people in my vicinity to tears) and the nearly indescribable "Holy Shit". Anyway, song titles notwithstanding this was an amazing, uplifting experience. To his detractors who consider him maybe a little too bleak in his assessment of the human condition, well...I just think he's pissed at the willfully blind and the one eyed fools who own them. Just my opinion, but anyway...next time he's in town Andy and me are gonna be FRONT ROW!!!
